There were not so many people in the camping.
The reception is at the restaurant. While I was paying I noticed in the menu that they had Lava Cake. We did setup the tent and then came back.もっと詳しく

Before going to Gullfoss we stopped at a hotel to eat but they had the restaurant closed until the evening. Hungry and angry!

Volcano hike

We got to see it bubbling for a few minutes half way up the mountain. Sadly, by the time we reached the view point it was all surrounded in fog. We watched the live stream for a bit, hoping we canもっと詳しく
First volcano attempt - the lava field

Midway on the hill to the volcano, a big fog came in. So no good angle to see the boiling earth from the top.
However the lava field is impressive, and still hot in some places. You can see the smokeもっと詳しく

Small camping but well stocked kitchen. Clean toilets. There is no reception but the owner comes at 10pm and collects money.

It looks a bit rusty from outside. On Google Maps shows that it has tho colours on different sides, but it has just one. Too bad that I couldn't bring the motorcycle next to it but parked 200m away.
