Volubilis

Today we head out to Chefchaouen. But just outside of Meknes we stopped at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the largest archeological site in Morocco. UNESCO-listed, the site dates back to AD40 and once ruled the entire Roman province of Mauritania.

The mosaics are amazing and very well preserved despite being exposed to the elements since they were excavated in the early 20th century.Weiterlesen
