Pogradec

We drove north to the town of Pogradec on the southern shore of Lake Ohrid, which is a pretty good size at 20 kms long and 14 kms wide. It makes for a lovely setting with the still water and surrounding mountains.

We stayed here a couple of days just wandering along the beach and through the town. We took a day drive up the coast to see some sites. One of the more impressive was Guri i Kuq, an abandoned iron mine from the Soviet era pre 1990.Read more
