    Last Day at Ducks Inn

    May 18, 2022 in Scotland ⋅ ⛅ 54 °F

Ducks booked all the golf in East Lothian (County) including The Renaissance (Scottish Open this year) Malcom Ducks's course. Room is fine and what you would expect from an inn that was built in 1638. This place is all about golf... you see people at the golf course that you'll see at breakfast or the bar at night. They have a great outside area, both front and back, for outdoor eating & drinking. Food was excellent, with a fresh breakfast in the morning. Jack loved all the fruit, (not so much the black pudding, haggis, or baked beans) he tried it but thought it was "bloody awful". The staff was very nice and helpful. When we came back from Dunbar with soaking rain gear they took our clothes to dry them in the furnace room (the room had a pulley system that lowered a rack that we drapped our clothes over.) Amazingly they were dry in the morning! They did our laundry and dryed it the same way. Our room had a 1/3 length glass door that swings in/out in the bathroom. Jack took the first shower but did not close the glass door to the top of the tub) water poured down onto the bathroom floor. I think Jack customized Malcom's ceiling. All around a good stay and super convenient with 9 courses within 10 minutes, and 22 within 25 minutes. Jack set his alarm for 1:30 a.m.to watch the Celtics & Miami, a true fan.Read more
