Rare Indeed! Aye, the wind is up today, a wee bit over 35 MPH. Home of the Scotish Open for next 5 years. The place was built in 2008, with new holes added in 2019 via a land swap with Murfield. Per the caddie, Muirfield thought they traded unbuildable land (environmental land), not only did they build on it but he cut down a forest to do it (replanted all the trees on a separate piece of land). We met the owner (US guy Jerry Susvadi) out front and in the resturant following the round. Nice guy, we looked out at the new holes and I mentioned the trees, he informed us that the ones on Murfields land were cut to open the view to the ocean...whether they like it or not...

Course is very good, firm fairways with views of the ocean. Very cool halfway house with free meat pies (I'm now in love with this place) with a 180 degree of the ocean. You can see the Fidra Light House in the distance. (The island of Fidrais reputed to have been the inspiration for the shape of Treasure Island in Robert Louis Stevenson's novel. (His dad Thomas designed the lighthouse).
