Dubois Wyoming-Longmire Country

A real cowboy town with beautiful views of the Shoshone National Forest and the Bridger-Teton National Forest. There was a single restaurant that was the big draw, the Cowboy, which served great pies. The land around Dubois was wide open and a mixtures of ranches, dude ranches and BLM (public) land. As we had taken a rock through our windshield, Dale spent an entire day driving 80 miles to Jackson to get a replacement, only to have the repair shop put a hole in the metal frame around the windshield. It was a long long day for Dale.

But the local rodeo was a blast, with 5 year olds riding sheep in contests, young kids barrel racing, roping and so on. Real Americana and great people watching.Read more
