    Earthquake Lake was formed in 1959 when a 7.5 earthquake and landslide blocked the end of the canyon. 28 people were killed with 19 of them entombed in the rock. Cabins were washed away, campgrounds were split in half and people were rescued adrift in the newly formed lake. It is about 15 miles from West Yellowstone Montana.Read more
