Amen Hotep III, King Tut’s grandpa, was the son of a king from a 2nd wife. Because his mom was not the queen, he would have to marry his step sister to ascend to the throne and increase his percent of royal blood. Instead he married his Syrian love and changed the course of Egyptian architecture. He built Luxor. And made the sculptures of queens equal in size to the king instead of them only coming up to the height of the king’s knee as seen in this picture.
