• Ba Na Hills - Golden Bridge

    September 22 in Vietnam ⋅ 🌧 21 °C

Our last day in Da Nang we woke up early for a day trip up to Ba Na Hills to visit the iconic Golden Bridge!
The day started out a bit miserable, pouring again. Upon arrival to sun world (mountaintop theme park and resort), we took a 20 minute cable cart up to the iconic bridge. There are 5 rows of cable carts taking tourists up.. in summer time it must get hectic! Unfortunately the fog and rain meant we couldn’t see much past the cart in front of us. Visiting the bridge was freezing, windy and rainy! Not quite like what we expected it to be like. Explored the base level of sun world where there are beautiful gardens and the golden bridge. The 2nd cable cart took us up another 10 minutes to the Sun world theme park.. this place is impossible to capture.. it’s huge. There are hundreds of things to do, rides, games, short films, castle’s, alpine coaster, and all with spectacular views! We were lucky to of stayed up here for a few hours.. the fog and rain cleared up in the arvo and we could see the view around us! Mountains and ocean lines and castles! So epic. You can purchase multi-day ticket passes here although we only opted for the one day. Now the fog had cleared, we headed back to the bridge again for one last look before heading back to the hostel. Miscalculated the travel time back to pickup our bags from the hostel and getting to the overnight train station so on the way back we jumped out of the car and got motorbikes the rest of the way (way faster around the traffic) picked up our bags from reception (and some food we ordered to the hostel reception on our way there) and zoomed over the the train station. We made it with 2 minutes to spare before departure!! Goodnight from our overnight sleeper train to Ninh Binh! (6pm - 8am). Minus a shower but plus a foot bath!Read more
