• Ninh Binh

    September 23 in Vietnam ⋅ 🌧 27 °C

Jumped off the sleeper train nice and early and we had now arrived in Ninh Binh! We were met with drastically different scenery, huge limestone mountains in every direction! The town is built around them all!
We checked into our accom which is a little remote hostel outside of the main part of town in an area called Tam Coc.
We hired some electric bicycles to get around for the next two days here. Packed our day bag and headed out, we began with cycling a popular loop around a lake, it offered beautiful scenery and cute duck cafes along the way! The track was awfully muddy though! We also came across Bich Dong Pagoda which was pretty cool to walk through!
In the arvo we had Bahn mi and chilled by the pool! Was so good to get out of the heat!
For sunset, we decided to climb the lying dragon mountain! It was 500 stairs straight up.. definitely got us dripping. At the top was a beautiful lookout over the limestone mountains which was spectacular for sunset! The top was crowded so we made some friends and all sat to watch the sun go down!
Showers was a must immediately after cycling back to our hostel and then a quick dinner before bed! For dinner we visited a taco bar.. tacos were horrible but the venue had lots of games so we ended up playing uno for an hour!
