South West Circuit Day 3 Part 1

TAG 3: Laguna Colorada – Atullcha (3650 m)

Wir begannen unsere Reise Richtung Norden, um die SILOLI-WÜSTE (4500 m) zu durchqueren, die als eine der trockensten der Welt gilt.
In ihrem Inneren konnten wir verschiedene vulkanische Formationen wie den STEINBAUM bewundern.
Die Umgebung bietet einen majestätischen Blick auf farbenfrohe Vulkane und Ebenen mit großen Vicuña-Herden und zahlreichen Wildtieren.

Im Abstieg erreichten wir die RUTA DE LAS JOYAS, wunderschöne, vielfarbige Lagunen wie die HONDA, CHIARKHOTA, HEDIONDA und CAÑAPA, alle mit hohem Mineralgehalt.

Die stinkende Lagune hat einen hohen Schwefelgehalt und ihr übler Geruch macht sie zur Heimat der drei Andenflamingoarten.

Die Reise ging weiter zum Aussichtspunkt des Vulkans OLLAGÜE (5865 m), einem der wenigen aktiven Vulkane der Region mit weithin sichtbaren Fumarolen, bis wir den Vulkan Tomasamil (5890 m) erreichten.

Anschließend durchquerten wir den Salar de Chiguana, die viertgrößte Salzwüste Boliviens.

Schließlich erreichten wir das große Wunder Boliviens, die Salar de Uyuni.
Dort erlebten wir einen majestätischen Sonnenuntergang, ein wahres Naturschauspiel.

Wir verbrachten die Nacht in Atullcha.

DAY 3: Laguna Colorada – Atullcha (3650 m)

We started the journey north to cross the SILOLI DESERT (4500 m), considered one of the most arid in the world.
In its interior we could appreciate different volcanic formations such as the STONE TREE.
The surrounding area has a majestic view of colorful volcanoes and plains with large herds of vicuñas and lots of wildlife.

Descending we reached the RUTA DE LAS JOYAS which were beautiful multicolored lagoons such as the HONDA, CHIARKHOTA, HEDIONDA and CAÑAPA, all with high mineral content.
The stinking lagoon contains a high sulfur content and its foul odor makes it home to the three varieties of Andean flamingo.

The trip continued to the viewpoint of OLLAGÜE VOLCANO (5865 m), one of the only active volcanoes in the region, with fumaroles that can be seen from afar, until we reached the Tomasamil Volcano (5890 m).
Then we crosses the SALAR DE CHIGUANA, the fourth largest salt desert in Bolivia.

Finally we entered the great wonder of Bolivia THE SALAR DE UYUNI, there we appreciated a majestic sunset, a true spectacle of nature.
