    It has been raining for a few days. However, we ventured into Fussen, the first time for us, and we ate dinner at Ristorante Michelangelo in old Town Fussen.

  • Two Castles Today

    We are eating breakfast in the shadow of Castle Neuschwanstein, which we will tour later today, but first Hohenschwangau castle.
    Schwangau is translated as "Swan District." The Schloss Hohenschwangau is a 12th-century castle built by King Maximilian II of Bavaria and was the childhood residence of his son, King Ludwig II of Bavaria.Read more

  • Eating after a long day.

    Bruce and Kim made the tour, but Linda and I took the day off as I have been sick. We joined at the end of the day to eat a great meal.

  • Schloss Lichtenstein

    It is not the country of Lichtenstein, but the castle and town of Germany. We have been in the rain for most of our trip, so far, and the castle was socked in with mist, so we could not see the castle till we got to the drawbridge. The tour was in German, but we saw the well-preserved interior. It was built in 1840–1842. The tickets were 12 euros. The photographs of the castle in the mist are by Kimberly Biggs.Read more
