Bobby

A bus shelter became indeed a tourist attraction on Unst.
It is the bus shelter of Bobby who had to wait in the harsh wind and rain every morning for the school bus when he was six years old. The old bus shelter was rusty and demolished. So he wrote, young as he was, to the local newspaper and asked for a new one. And so it was built. And he got his local "fame". That was 1996. Until 2002 there had been anonymous donors of decoration items and furniture for the shelter. A sofa. A painting. An old microwave... So Bobby can have it comfortably while waiting for the school bus.
Bobby is now long in his thirties and the shelter became an attraction. There is a committee who organises different themes for the decoration which changes a few times a year. At the moment the theme is "nautical". But after all - it is still a bus shelter. But the most photographed one!Baca lagi
