Woebegone is the first word which comes to my mind if I want to describe the charging situation in Lewis and Harris.
Here are so many EVs driving around. Many more than I have seen in other parts of Scotland. Still they have only a rapid charging station in Stornoway. For both islands... You have to queue for 2 hours or longer to get your slot.
That only one in Harris is out of order and nobody repairs it. A handful of 22kW chargers are spread over both islands.
But here in Uig of Lewis, in the middle of almost nowhere, we were positively surprised. A well working 22kW charger plus tearoom and picnic tables. And the view...!!!Read more
