Happy to arrive in Australia because of the warm weather and for seeing some familiar faces. Catherine and ting ting are joining me for the beginnig of my trip through Australia, we celebrate Catherine's 50th birthday with her niece Claire. Joyce joins us at the end, she arrives in Perth with her 'Granny van'. We rent an airbnb in Scarborough, a nice village North of Perth, were we enjoy the luxury of a home. • Roadtrip Perth-Broome 1

    21. maj 2017, Australien ⋅ 🌬 18 °C

As my three fellow travellers went there own way after a week I decide to do a roadtrip up North towards Darwin and the sun. I meet some people through facebook who are looking for a fourth companion to drive up North. The next day we leave Perth, that's how easy it is!
We're going back to basics with the four of us packed in one car looking for free campsites, eating pasta and rice and showering on the beach. Our little 12 dollar Kmart tent is doing well during our trip, giving us shelter against the wind, the insects and the larger animals.

  • Glamping from Broome to Darwin 1

    13. juni 2017, Australien ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

After some weeks of basic camping Milou and I decide to relocate a camper from Broome to Darwin, that means we don't need to pay for the camper if we return it within five days. The camper was true luxury with a shower, toilet, kitchen and a queen size bed!
Our first real stop is Argyle lake, the lake is full of fresh water crocodiles (aka freshies), but still tempting enough to jump in! In Katherine gorge we see trees full of 'flying foxes', the largest bats in the world. They are often hanging in the sun and you can smell them from miles away.

  • Darwin and Kakado NP

    18. juni 2017, Australien ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Darwin is the most Northern and smallest capital of Australia, it stays hot during the whole year, in winter it's dry season and livable, but in summer it's very humid and uncomfortable.
With two Dutch guys I met in Broome we go to visit Kakadu NP for one day. Kakadu is a protected area that covers an area of 19,804 km2. It contains a large amount of saltwater crocodiles and the aboriginal people have occupied the area continuously for at least 40,000 years.Læs mere

  • Big boattrip 1

    27. juni 2017, Australien ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Cruising along the Westcoast with a 23 meter long boat for three weeks is like a dream coming true. In return for some hours of working (cleaning and cooking) on the boat we can enjoy everything what the Abrolhos islands have to offer. After three days of preparing the boat in Perth we are ready to set sail to Geraldton where we do our shopping and final preparations. This ride was already an adventure as we had to sail for 24 hours through rough see while half of the crew was getting seesick. Fortunately we got to see some whales in return. With 12 people on board we could set of to the first island called 'peninsula' island. We anker safely in the bay where we are protected from wind and waves.Læs mere

  • The big boattrip 2

    1. juli 2017, Australien ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

We learn how to catch fich, how to clean it and how to prepare it, to my surprise it goes easier then I thought and we get to do it on daily basis. Every day day there's fresh fish on the menu such as cods, coral trought, boldfish, sweetlips and greyfish.Læs mere

  • The big boattrip 3

    7. juli 2017, Australien ⋅ 🌙 27 °C

Lots of dolphins and seals come to play with our waves when we go out with the little boats to discover the islands. The islands are flat and full of low 'bush', sand and rocks.
The underwaterworld is much more interesting as it is full of corals and colourful fich.

Fiching, swimming, snorkeling, diving, driving the dingi and the jetski and discovering the islands are part of our daily activities.

  • Working @ Eneabba

    19. august 2017, Australien ⋅ ☀️ 25 °C

After travelling for five months it's time to see the saldo rising again on my bankaccount. The day I decide to work I reply to some ads on Facebook and two days later I have a job. For the next six weeks I'm working in Eneabba roadhouse in the middle of nowhere. My tasks are cleaning, cooking and doing the till.
The best thing about the job besides the money is the unlimited acces to burgers, fries and lots of other food. Another good thing are the nice owners and the entertainment every friday in the sportsclub where I get to know some locals.
