    Weiterfahrt nach Positano

    Die Weiterfahrt bekommt sogar einen eigenen Eintrag, da die restlichen 270km echt interessant waren!
    Dass wir 3,5 std dafür brauchen sollten, war noch verständlich, da es auf der Strecke fast gar keine Autobahn gibt. Die ersten 1,5 Stunden geht’s also erstmal durch die Pampa (Provinz Basilicata) hoch (bis zu 800m) und wieder runter. Schön, aber schon heftig, da Helmut auch vielen Schlaglöchern ausweichen muss🫣als wir dann endlich mal ein kurzes Stück Autobahn erreichen, fängt es übelst an zu regnen. Dieser Regen ist auch noch als wir nach Salerno kommen (Beginn Amalfiküste). Hier sagt nun das Nawi 38 km und 1:40h 🤔Die Küstenstraße ist teilweise so schmal, dass es besser eine Einbahnstraße sein sollte und dann fahren da auch noch Busse😳echt irre und ich hätte aufgegeben. Zum Glück kam mittlerweile die Sonne raus und die Ausblicke sind schon unbeschreiblich. Nach fast 2 Stunden (!) erreichen wir Positano und werden mit unserem Zimmerblick für alles entschädigt!Read more

    Dieses Küstenörtchen ist zum Verlieben und meiner Meinung nach, das schönste Örtchen der Amalfiküste 😍🥹. Allein der Weg dort hin ist ein Traum❣️ Christian hat den Roller molto bene über die kurvigen, teils sehr engen Spitzkehren gerollt 👌🛵... so konnte Karla Kolumna während der Fahrt filmen 🎥 🤭. Leider können nur 2 Videos geladen werden 🤣.... Unfassbar, aber hier habe ich in der Euphorie sogar den Wunsch geäußert, mal eine Mopedtour an die Amalfiküste zu machen 🏍 🫣...     Amalfi obala - Maiori in Positano

    Sva gledala napoved, da naj bi bil torek zelo lep pa sva rekla dejva met prvič v celem dopustu plaža dan, nič počet samo ležati in se kopat...
    No pa je bla ponoc nevihta, ki je razburkala morje (prejšnji dan je bil zelo čist in mirn) tokrat pa valovit in polno ene trave.. sva šla 1x v vodo potem pa sva samo izlezavala na ležalniku😁☀️⛅️

    Nisva hotla spet imet mokrih las, saj sva bila namenjena v Positano na vecerjo - tokrat tudi midva bolj primerno oblečena, sva se zrihtala kar na plaži 👝📿👗👔💄    Read more

    Breathtaking views ,Heart stopping Drive

    Today was our tour of Positano ,Amalfi & Ravello. Breathtaking views incredibly beautiful. The drive there I wasn’t too bad on the way home home I just wanted the curves to stop . It was nice to get back to some what straight road.
    We took a boat ride along the Amalfi coast . Hillside towns and mountains touching the sea ..very beautiful. Pasted by
    Had lunch in Ravello …pasta of course ! Again magnificent views !
    Such a wonder day ! After visiting that area very happy we chose to stay in Sorrento.    Read more

    Day 3 - Positano (Path of the Gods)

    Today we did the Path of the Gods (il Sentiero degli dei). It is considered one of the most scenic hikes in the world and goes along ancient mule routes, through hillside villages, and provides the most spectacular views of the Amalfi and Sorrento Coasts. At 630m above sea level you really do feel as though you are up with gods - and you pass many mountains goats to remind you! An unforgettable experience albeit hard yakka at times!Read more

    Day 2 - Positano (Amalfi Coast Cruise)

    Today we did a fantastic boat cruise around the Amalfi coast including some dips off the boat deep in the sea, some time in the town of Amalfi and a fabulous lunch at a reach-by-boat-only restaurant - and some sunbathing. The weather got quite stormy in the morning but before long was back to the bright sunny weather we have become accustomed to! See vids for the contrast!     Day 1 - Positano

    Today we arrived in Positano on the Amalfi Coast. Positano is like heaven on earth. Impossibly high mountains behind you and stunning villa studded coast and sea as far as the eye can see. And we are very lucky to be positioned up high looking over it all (see vid our pics for our views). The author John Steinbeck said it best - “Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn't quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.”Read more

    Positano Tag 2

    Da es gestern für uns ja nur kurz durch die Stadt ging. Haben wir Mutti heute erneut die Stufen runter gequält und uns den Rest angeschaut. ⛪️
    Es gibt wirklich so viele schöne Dinge hier. Zum Glück muss alles in den Koffer passen sonst hätte ich mein gesamtes Vermögen in das wunderschöne Porzellan hier investiert.
    Nachdem wir auch noch die Santa Maria Assunta besichtigt haben, haben wir etwas Mutti freundliches gemacht und den Nachmittag am Strand, in einem Beach Club verbracht. 🧴⛱️
    Hier haben wir dann noch ein super Angebot für einen Sonnenuntergangs-bootstour bekommt, bei dem wir nicht nein sagen konnten. 🚤
    18:00 ging es los. Für den niedrigen Preis hatten wir ehrlich nicht viel erwartet. Netter weise wurden wir eines besseren belehrt. Zu dem echt hübschen, gemütlichen Boot was uns abholen kam, haben wir doch tatsächlich noch eine Flasche Champagner und kleine Snacks dazu bekommen. 🍾
    Obendrauf hat uns der „Captain“ noch lustige Fakten über die Insel und Sehenswürdigkeiten an der Küste erzählt. Schwimmen durften wir auch und es gab sogar Tauchmasken !!! 🤿 Alles in allem war es ein wunderschöner Ausflug zu einem echten Schnapper-Preis. Auch mal eine nette Überraschung. 🥰
    Unser Abend ließen wir dann im Brunos ausklingen, bei dem man eine atemberaubende Aussicht über die Stadt bei Nacht hatte. 🌃    Read more

    Positano

    Took a 1 hour ferry to Positano with stunning views of the coast. Positano isn’t huge and building on new sites is banned in order to retain the town’s charm. We didn’t spend long in the town centre before catching a taxi way up the hill to a restaurant for lunch. This place had been recommended to us by friends in Adelaide and it really was incredible. No choice in the menu but the food was delicious. Way too much to eat with the traditional antipasto, pasta, meat and dessert courses.

    We took the local bus back to the town centre after lunch. What an experience! Jam packed with locals and drunk tourists who had just finished a full day cooking school. The bus was very small, to fit around tight counters and narrow streets. Scary! Then one local pulled out a microphone and speaker and got the whole bus singing! Very, very funny.

    After that bus trip we were so hot and sweaty that we went for a swim. Most of the beach front has expensive paid reclining chairs with umbrellas leaving a small area for free swimming. Nothing like Australian beaches with black organic sand and pebbles. Very salty water that wasn’t that cold, but we were desperate!

    Amalfi - Positano - Sorrento

    We could write a travel book on our experiences with Italian public transport! It's intriguing to say the least! There's a system, sort of ... People run around trying to find where to buy tickets and, as happened this morning, there was only one man selling bus tickets and he was sitting on a stone wall with no sign to say he was the ticket seller!
    We got our tickets by pure chance and boarded the bus to Sorrento. We had 2 1/4 hrs of white knuckles and being totally absorbed by the exploits of the bus drivers and all of the other motorists weaving in and around each other!
    We disembarked at Sorrento and found a delightful restaurant to have one of the best meals we've had since arriving in Europe (and reasonably priced too!)
    Back to the bus station for a 40 min wait for the return trip to Amalfi. Once again, people were herded into the bus like sheep and told to 'move back'. It was total entertainment. We were pleased to be seated each way - it would have been a nightmare otherwise!
    We enjoyed another meal on the rooftop of the Hotel away from the crowds and in the peace and quiet - bliss!
    We are packed ready for our ferry ride and 2 x train trips where we will end up in Caserta for 1 night.
    We've had a wonderful 3 days in Amalfi but we are keen to get back on the bikes in the Puglia region this Sunday.    Read more
