In the afternoon, I visit the Presidential Palace with a mural of the Conquista by Guayasamin (s. Picture) and the Franciscan monastery. Building started right after the Spanish Conquista in mid-16th Century. The gold of the church displays its donors' riches and some impressive artwork by artists of the Quitenian school.Read more
