Travel Day - Escaping Wales… Eventually

After a loooong day of travelling (why does it always take forever to get out of Wales?! 😂), we finally arrived in Istanbul on the evening of 02 March.

Ironically, it took longer to get to the airport than it did to actually fly to Istanbul… make that make sense ✈️😂

We were met by a taxi driver who whisked us off to our hotel at which, by that point, felt like the promised land. Bags were launched onto the floor with zero ceremony, and within minutes we were back out the door in search of food. Priorities.

We hadn’t even walked more than a few metres before passing three local restaurants. Obviously, we chose the busiest one… because if it’s full of locals, it’s got to be good, right? 😂

Excellent decision.

I had an absolutely amazing mince and egg pide it was hot, spicy and exactly what was needed after a full day of travelling. Proper comfort food.

On the wander back to the hotel we found a little bakery and picked up some pastries for breakfast (future us will be very grateful 😜).
