The extra day in Burgos was productive and restful. We had a great apartment overlooking the cathedral - a plus. The downside - it was also close to restaurants. And, man, can those Spaniards party. All night!

We spent the day replenishing supplies, getting new tips for our poles and - because it's been so hot and I'd only brought one pair of shorts - I bought another pair. Then, of course lunch and dinners at some of the many restaurants. Most had outdoor seating and great menus.

After Burgos, we walked to the tiny town of Hornillos. A little cooler day - most welcomed. No open restaurants, so we opened a couple bags of potato chips accompanied with a few beers. Dinner was home made paella and chocolate mousse for dessert at the albergue, then an early bedtime for a change.

Today, we're in Castrojeriz after a 12 mile walk - the last few miles a bit of a slog because of the heat. Starting to see more poppy fields.
