    We've had rain every day but today. It was chilly when we woke up at 38 F! Heating oil is very expensive but the Sisters do have us turn the heat on when it is super cold. Even just 15 minutes can make a difference. The walls are about 3 feet thick and some are from Roman times.

    Charles the Great came through here in the mid 800's. Napoleon was defeated here at the battle of Zabaldika later. Now the church is kept alive with visits from pilgrims, the Sisters of the Sacred Heart, and other local volunteers.

    Last night we had 9 pilgrims. There are people waiting for us to open today. Phil is resting after our big shop at the restaurant supply store.

    The wild pig continues to make a mess of things, but Sr. Marisol is actively putting to right with her pick ax and shovel. She is 84, I think.
