Flamingos des Celestún

From our location in Progreso it was a 2 hour drive to Celestún. We have heard the best place to watch flamingos. The last hour of the drive is just a boring straight street which no navigation system knows anymore... Once arrived we rented a boat and drove 20 minutes to the place where the flamingos are located. The best time is from December to March where nearly 35000 flamingos are in this area. The most beautiful thing is when they start flying. On the way back we drove trough Mangroves. All in all a great experience and we were happy that no other Tourists were around. We can imagine how busy this place is normally when we saw the sum of all boats. To visit the flamingos alone with no other boats made the trip perfect.Read more
