On the way to Sofia

Today we journey from Bucharest to Bulgaria. As the route to Sofia was quite extensive, we opted for an overnight stay in Veliko Tarnovo as a brief intermission. Regrettably, the drive was not a pleasant experience. The roads were in poor condition, the scenery was unremarkable, and the traffic regulations, with numerous restrictions and peculiar police encounters, were rather odd. Next Stop Sofia. Not much to recount regarding Sofia. A vital piece of information for a road trip to Sofia is the severe scarcity of parking spaces. We arrived at the hotel only to discover a complete absence of parking facilities, and any available street parking necessitates sending an SMS, exclusively possible with a Bulgarian cellphone number, or purchasing a scratch-off parking card, which is virtually impossible to acquire. Consequently, we were forced to park our vehicle 2.7 km away and take a taxi to the hotel 😵‍💫. The city itself offered nothing particularly remarkable to mention. We totally wanted to catch even a glimpse of Serbia while we were in the area. And for us, it was like night and day right after we crossed the border! We had an awesome Serbian dinner and chatted with some of the locals. We would Love to Go to Belgrad but Not possible for this time. So another Reason to come Back someday 😊Read more

Wellness Stop in Kasanlak

So, we split our drive again and found a thermal bathing wellness hotel in Kasanlak. Honestly, these drives are super boring. There’s nothing to see on the way, and it’s even tough to find places to stop for food... So, it's pretty much just racking up kilometers on our way to the Black Sea. Will see hopefully a difference in the more touristic areas...Read more

Burgas Black See

After another drive, we finally made it to the Black Sea! We found this super nice, new hotel right on the beach, and I got to fly my drone for the first time there. Since it's still preseason, we pretty much have the place to ourselves. We popped over to Burgas, and, well, how do I put it? It was pretty rough.
