    October 1, 2019 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Woke up in the beautiful town of Regensburg Germany. 8° at 0900 and clear blue skies as we left on our walking tour of the medieval city.

After our 2 hour tour, we had an hour of free time to check out the city, and decided to try the bratwurst sausage from the oldest continually open restaurant in the world.

Back onboard for lunch then enjoyed the afternoon in the lounge with a red or two as we watched the world go by.

    Regensburg Germany

    August 22, 2019 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Sorry to say, but it's been another beautiful day along the Danube River. Today's adventures started with a walking tour through the city and visit the beautiful St. Peter's church. Lunch then our tour and tasting of Bavarian beers, pretzels and sausages! On our Microbreweries tour we stopped at 2 locations for beer and food pairing; excellent!! Found ourselves with an hour before we were to meet our transfer, so after a little more shopping and walking, we ended up at a beer garden near an ice cream shop. Great way to cool down. Weather has been so good, cool in the morning and sunny, not too warm in the afternoon. As we explored Regensburg, the ship moved up river towards our final port in Nuremberg.Read more

    The Ship! Day 4

    October 23, 2015 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

MS Savor is absolutely heavenly! Our room AND bathroom are spacious with plenty of drawers, two closets, numerous outlets and a Nespresso coffee machine. We chose this room because it features a loft, which houses table and chairs with a perfect water view.

The ship itself is new with a beautiful cocktail lounge, a restaurant which can seat all 118 passengers, a smaller restaurant, a salon, massage room, sauna and steam room.

    Bon Voyage

    October 23, 2015 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

I didn't mention that today's weather is beautiful Fall temps. The countryside leaving Regensburg is picturesque. The ship stopped so we could take pictures of Walhalla, a monument to fallen German soldiers. We thought its an unusual location, but perhaps we'll learn more during tomorrow's history talk. Right now, were enjoying prosecco and Chivas during the Captain's safety talk.Read more

    Regensburg, Day 4

    October 23, 2015 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

Heading out on brand new, spacious coach buses to the Danube port town of Regensburg. Beautiful countryside. Our tour guide on the boat intermittently filled the time with German history and tidbits about modern lifestyle. Regensburg is a well restored German town on the Danube. Spent the afternoon walking around, had some bratwurst and bought sweet mustards, said to be a local specialty.Read more

Day 54: Travel Day to Prague

    August 13, 2017 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

This morning we woke up to the smell of puke so we had the pleasure of packing our bags in the hallway. It wasn't too bad though because we had light and it was a lot cooler than in the room. We then caught our 8:48 train to Prague, Czech Republic.

Made our way for some pasta and then headed to our hostel to swim and relax in the sauna for a bit. Our hostel is one of the nicer ones we've had. We paid $50 for four nights to stay here, which is insanely cheap.

After our showers, we went for supper and now we're in bed by 10:30 pm. We are really nice and cozy and pooped out considering we didn't sleep much the night before.

**Since I've got no pictures for today, I'm going to add more from yesterday since I had a lot!

Read more

    August 3 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Vom Schiff geht's los, erster Test steil bergauf. Dann gemütlich den Berg hoch (neidische Blicke, man kann das auch zu Fuß gehen …), dann sind wir da. Noch ein kurzer Fußmarsch, dann „klotzt“ es. Das beste ist der Ausblick, einfach toll.Read more
