I promised you today that I would tell you what I actually do here in the Black Forest.

Ten years ago, I took over our family's old farmhouse. Not the whole part, but half of two houses, so roughly one. The rest belongs to my cousin and my aunt.

That means I have two apartments here of about 120m² each, both of which are rented out. One of them is a so-called luxury renovation, which means I built this apartment from scratch (it was the attic) and only used high-quality natural materials.

The first tenants lived in the apartment for five years and the apartment still looked great afterwards. The second tenants have now lived in it for six years and when I arrived yesterday, I got a huge shock. It is the first time I have lived in this apartment and I brought my camping equipment and got an air bed.

Air bed? Lucky me that my brother and my sister in law brought me this air bed over ❤️ - so I can sleep here and start working straight away!

The apartment is completely filthy, the walls are very badly painted and the floor is ruined. Today the apartment was handed over and that was not an easy matter. I'll write to you tomorrow about the solution we found and show you what the apartment will look like again.
