    Bye bye Baltic Sea

    2 hours ago in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Bye bye Behrensdorf, today it is cloudy, time to leave 👋.

It was a wonderful short trip and although all the campsites along the coast (especially around Eckernförde) where fully booked, we picked the right one (thanks to Micha and Zoran) and had a lot of shady space and the beach was not crowded.

    I'm soooooo lucky 🍀😊.

  • Seepudel

    Yesterday in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

Today was "visitor day," and a total of three people came to see us. So, we quickly grew from a group of three to a group of six.

Miri brought along a whole cooler bag full of drinks, which we enjoyed - among other places - at the beach.

Naturally, we went for a swim, too, and afterwards we had a meal at the Seepudel - a really cozy pub right near the beach.

It was a truly lovely day spent with friends ❤️.

  • An afternoon at the beach

    August 14 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

After my short bike ride, I joined Micha and Zoran on the beach. They are true beach lovers who spend the entire day there with their sun loungers and umbrellas.

I was simply cheekily laying in the shade between their two loungers and spent the day enjoying the pleasant breeze, punctuated by refreshing swims.

It is the perfect way to while away a 31-degree day.

  • By bike to Hohwacht

    August 14 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

After visiting the lighthouse, I cycled along the coast to Hohwacht.

I needed to go to an ATM because the campsite shop where I pick up bread rolls in the morning only accepts cash.

Anyway, I have enough cash 💵 now, and I also took the opportunity to explore 🚴 the area a bit.Read more

  • Lighthouse Neuland

    August 14 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 26 °C

This morning, I cycled to the Neuland Lighthouse.

It is located not far from our campsite and, consequently, near the village of Behrensdorf. Behrensdorf lies on the Bay of Kiel, between Hohwacht Bay and Kiel Fjord.

The lighthouse is operated by the Bundeswehr (German Armed Forces) rather than the Waterways and Shipping Administration.

The tower is open to visitors twice a year during the summer as part of an open house event organized by the municipality of Behrensdorf with the support of the Bundeswehr.

Since 2010, it has also been possible to hold wedding ceremonies inside the tower.

The light on the historic Neuland Lighthouse indicates restricted periods for the Putlos and Todendorf live-fire exercise areas - as do the newly built signal stations at Heidkate, Hubertsberg, Neuland, Wessek, Blankeck, and Heiligenhafen, including at night when necessary.

The signal consists of a yellow flashing light for the Todendorf area and a red flashing light for the Putlos area. If exercises are taking place in both warning areas, an alternating yellow-and-red flashing light is displayed.

  • Merguez

    August 13 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Micha and Zoran have brought Merguez from St. Georg 😍. I love Merguez.

Since I grew up on the French border, Merguez are an integral part of my diet.

Merguez is a spicy sausage from North African (Maghrebi) cuisine. It is traditionally made from lamb or a blend of lamb and beef, stuffed into a sheep casing. It derives its bright red color and bold spiciness from spices such as harissa, cumin, paprika, and garlic.Read more

  • Packing up my stuff

    August 12 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

I’m packing my gear today because tomorrow I’m heading to the Baltic Sea on a whim with Micha and Zoran.

That’s why I quickly scooted home to grab my tent and a few other camping items.

Now I have everything together; I still have to work today, but I’ll load everything into the car this evening.

    Yeeeeees ❤️❤️❤️ 🏕️ 🌊 🌅 🏖️ 🌞
