    Ready for packing

    May 9, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

It's a bit tight this time because I entered my apartment at the moment and need to unpack an wash and pack other stuff for tomorrow straight away. But I'm so much looking forward to spend some time with Heidrum at the KLP that "ça m'est me bien égal!" 😁Read more

  • B20

    May 10, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

This is my favorite place at the KLP (Kulturelle Landpartie). It is located in Beesem, called B20 and belongs to Reiko.

After we parked the camper at Frank's (and got stuck, later more about that 🤣) we set off on the scooter as planned. Heidrun got the orange glitter helmet.

First we went to B20, where I know almost all the exhibitors and artisans. Of course, that also means chatting to everyone. I was particularly happy that Jana was there again with her sculptures, because I love them very much, and of course I ate in the fire kitchen.

A great start to the KLP.

  • At Frank's

    May 11, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ☁️ 13 °C

We are staying in our caravan 🚛 at Frank's, an old friend of Rainer. When we arrived yesterday, Frank wasn't there, but he had written: drive to the back. Which we did. We also walked around the meadow, as is proper.

When we then pulled in, we drove a meter further than we had walked; we wanted to park backwards so that the door was on the right side. It happened as it had to - we quickly got stuck in the mud with our front tires 😩.

What a mess, but first thing first: we drove off to the KLP by scooter 🛵 to have some fun 🤣 and when we came back at 8, Frank pulled us out with the tractor 🚜. What luck that he has one!

Of course, this would never have happened with Töffi 🤣😍🚒!

  • Bülitz

    May 11, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Bülitz is also one of my favorite "wonder points"- this is how the farms are called which open up for the KLP. The wonder points are listed in a small print book.

What also happened over the years: the people split up. So some of them are still organizing in an association under the original name "Kulturelle Landpartie" and publish the small book in which all wonder points with their program are listed and the others organize autonomously.

Bülitz is still part of the KLP association and thus listed, Beesem not and thus not listed in the program book.

I love Bülitz because you can definitely find some extraordinary artisan here.

  • Göttien

    May 11, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

I did not know this wonder point until today but I liked it.

At some of points I only jump in and out because at first glance you can see, that the things they built there, are kind of standard and not very creative. This happened today e.g. in Püggen. Also awful was Zeetzer Mühle, it felt like a dead end.

When I found a nice wonder point I put it in my google map for next year. Göttien is in my map now 😍.

  • Diahren

    May 12, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Today we drove to Diahren to take part in the Rundling-Village tour. The tour was a bit long-winded 🤪, so I left after 10 minutes and went off on my own. I found a great seed shop with open-pollinated seeds and stocked up 🌽🥦🫑🥒🍆🍅.

But I love these Rundling-Villages, I like the concept of the circular arrangement of the houses around the village tree and only one street going in, around the tree and out again.

This Rundlings are found only in Northern Germany, typical of settlements in the Germanic-Slav contact zone in the Early Medieval period.

The Rundling was a relatively common village form. It usually comprises a central, circular village green owned in common with individually owned farmsteads radiating out around it like the spokes of a wheel.

The best examples can be found in the small area of Wendland. Nineteen of these villages were put forward as an ensemble for consideration as a possible World Heritage Site, but the decision in December 2023 was negative and there are no plans for resubmitting.

  • Alte Ziegelei, Mützingen

    May 12, 2024 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

The Mützingenta should not be missed, that's why we were in Mützingen today

The Mützingenta is an annual cultural festival in Mützingen. It was initially part of the Kulturelle Landpartie and has been an independent festival since 2010.

The “Festival of the Senses” usually takes place between Ascension Day and Pentecost on the site of the old brickworks (alte Ziegelei) in Mützingen. The building of the old brickworks was converted by the artist Rosi Schoppe and expanded into a kind of meeting place.

In addition to a permanent arts and crafts exhibition, a cultural program is offered every evening. The Mützingenta claims to be a political festival and there is information on the topics of nuclear policy, Gorleben and alternative electricity providers, as well as stands from the Lüchow-Dannenberg Environmental Protection Citizens' Initiative and the anti-nuclear network contrAtom.

The Mützingenta is also known for its rich culinary offerings. There are several camping options next to the festival site.
