• Bergen - Stoltzekleiven

    September 14, 2015 in Norway ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Having only half a day to spare, and wanting to at least visit the top of a hill in Bergen in daytime, I decided to head up Stoltzekleiven (wearing chinos, oops). It's a steep track mostly made of large varying-sized stone slabs as steps. 908 steps in total, with some amazing views as you get higher up.
I think it took me about 40 mins to climb, but there's an annual race up for which the record is like 8 minutes!
It's common to go from the top along to Mt Fløyen, but I wasn't sure how long that would take and I didn't want to miss my fjord cruise (spoiler!) so I went back down the same path (later found out that's not recommended because it's so steep).
