In den Straßen von George Town

The sixth island in a row: Now we are on Penang Island, famous for the city of George Town. It is a lovely city with a lot of festivals in the moment. On the one hand it is day 5 of the Chinese New Year celebrations and on the other hand a hot air balloon festival. We walked around the city the whole day and enjoyed the atmosphere.

Insel Nummer 6: Jetzt sind wir auf Penang! Die Insel ist bekannt für die Hauptstadt George Town. Neben vielen alten Gebäuden aus der Kolonialzeit gibt es im Stadtzentrum heute einen starken chinesischen Einfluss. So sind die Straßen voller Lampions und auch an Tag 5 des chinesischen Neujahrsfests wird hier ordentlich gefeiert. Zusätzlich dazu gibt es zurzeit auch noch ein Heißluftballon-Festival in der Stadt, sodass man gar nicht weiß wo man überall hin gehen soll.
