Whitsundays - Hamilton Island

Well, actually we are working right now but Tina & Garth (our bosses) sponsored us an overnight trip to Hamilton Island. They told us they were happy with our work and because our anniversary and Janines birthday will be in the school holidays we can't get a day off then.

We started at the Haliday Bay this morning at 5:30 to arrive at Airlie Beach in time for the first ferry to Hamilton Island. On the island we had a bungalow with an own hammock on the balcony and directly started to explore the island and the resort. Just an absolutely amazing experience to be on such a beautiful island.

Eigentlich arbeiten wir ja zurzeit, aber Tina & Garth (unsere Chefs) haben uns am Samstag mitgeteilt, dass sie uns einen Kurzurlaub im Hamilton Island Resort gebucht haben, weil sie glücklich mit uns sind! Unfassbar, aber wahr: Fähre, eine Nacht auf der Insel und eine Nacht in einem netten Hotel auf dem Festland - alles bezahlt! Alles zusammen hat es wohl mindestens 600$ gekostet.

Für uns ging es also heute Morgen um 5:30 Uhr los, damit wir die erste Fähre von Airlie Beach erreichen. Obwohl wir zuerst am falschen Hafen von Airlie Beach standen und dann auch noch die erste Fähre kaputt gegangen ist waren wir schon gegen halb zehn auf Hamilton Island. Auf der Insel hatten wir dann einen kleinen Bungalow mit eigener Hängematte auf der Veranda und nur wenige Meter von Strand und Pools entfernt. Auf Hamilton Island gibt es kaum Autos, aber zahlreiche Golfcarts und so mussten wir uns auch eins mieten. Es macht unfassbar Spaß die Insel mit diesen Golfcarts zu erkunden!Read more
