Santa Elena

This is the Santa Elena canyon. There are people walking up into the canyon on this first picture to give a sense of scale.

The cliff face on the left is Mexico (Chihuahua), and the right is USA (Texas). Yes, I went up and touched both. So I guess I have finally visited Mexico.

In the wetter seasons, you can't of course walk into the canyon, as it's full of water. One good reason to suffer 114 F to get the experience.

It was so miserably hot, it was kind of hard to enjoy. Also, I could not bring Della, so I left the car running with AC, which meant all my explorations were still very close to the car. This is the furthest I went.Read more
