Day 6 Thyangboche/Dingboche

We started the morning at 0500 to watch the sunrise, surrounded in an amphitheatre of mountains.

Left at 0730 down stone steps through rhododendrons, birches, and conifers.

The trek to Dingboche then took us out of the woods into the Alpine ecosystem with shrubs and copious amounts of little flowers. Midway we crossed the 4000m mark.

3/4 of the way we stopped at a lookout point with the junction of two rivers. The sight was just overwhelming - white rocks streaming down a hillside like a river.
