DAY 11 : Medical evac to Kathmandu

Sue made it past 5100m and fell very sick on day 9 with altitude sickness. Her oxigen was below 52%. Should be 75%

I continued to Everest base camp but one of the guides walked her 8km down to Pheriche - a hell of a walk. She sounded ok via a satellite phone on the 1st night but I only got back to her on the afternoon of day 10, after a 10hour hike and she was not able to operate at all. Oxigen was 54%. We managed to get her to 65% - out of the danger zone but not able to hike the 40km back.
We've got a medic airlift approved for this morning and just landed in Katmandu. She is much beter but has to stay in the hospital till tomorrow.Read more
