La Maddelena to Ponza La Luna. Great having Leo on board to help with the night shifts and Clair with the cooking. A good first night with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Minimal wind and slow pace but under sail with the code zero. We have been so lucky to be visited by a pod of dolphins surfing our bow. How wonderful nature is 🥰. Looking forward to seeing spectacular Ponza. Hoping Tony is going well.Read more

Ponza Di Luna to Capri Punta Cannone. On our way to Capri. Mostly sailing - light winds. 21 hour trip. Code 0 time and yes Dolphins!! Capri of course did not fail to deliver from spectacular cliffs to beautiful streets lined with flowers and the essential coloured houses. I love love love this island. Had to put fenders up for protection against day boats.

7 pm and off we go to Stromboli. A 31 hour journey and a 2am arrival on the volcanic island of Stromboli. Fun on the way with haircuts and swim stops. Oh and a lunar eclipse 👏

Stromboli to Messina Gallico. After fun hiking stromboli as far as we could go we left timing the Messina Strait for good currents. We saw a swordfish boat and moored in the strait to hide out from wind.

Paxoi Mesovrika to Roda. An early morning move around the island to our favorite bay. Roda never fails to impress. Chasing a French boat who overtook us on the inside corner only to discover the anchorage is a technical one and left after failing to find a spot. Dropped anchor with lines ashore and time to do some exploring by snorkel and a run on the island. Kev playing the role of clearing out the spiders through the overgrown bush 🙌😜 Time for braai night!!

Gaios to Blue Cave. A secret surprise visit to blue cave. What’s up with these caves and their dangerous anchorages. I guess it’s something with the make up of the geology in the area? Dropping anchor chain on the rocks we took turns to snorkel into the blue cave. Much excitement with Tony and Clair. Clair had to rescue tired Tony with the sup board.

Blue Cave to Lakka. We don’t often get to new places and when we do, despite our homework we are always delighted with a new finding. Lakka was mind blowingly beautiful. Not sure that’s a word 🥰. With turquoise waters like this it was time to send Kevin up the mast for a Jaci and Clair photoshoot. Much to the delight of our neighbor Saffers, who did some jumping of their own for Kevin to take. A wonderful monastery run in the morning 👏.

Unfortunately the stress of the upcoming trip and a little peopled out gave me a little meltdown. A sup to the marina was peaceful and followed by some Jaci time out. A lovely bay 😊

Syvota Niklaos to Plataria. Bad storms coming and our final clean of GypsyDjango necessitate a dreaded visit to the town quay for the night. Anticipated last trip with Tony and Clair to Corfu. So today was a big day with washing, scrubbing and polishing. Plataria not a great town but convenient. Many loads of washing done in the official laundromat which turned out to be a machine in the backstreet with one load at a time. I am tired and stressed but need to keep going. Expecting the storm to arrive by midday tomorrow we set our alarms for 5am to beat the storm. At midnight a harsh sound wakes us and Kevin and I rush out to find the boat next to us off anchor and on our port side pushing us onto our other neighbors. An urgent wake up of Tony and the process of tying the rogue boat away from us became the goal. After a stressful hour we retired back to our cabins and deactivated our 5am alarms making the decision not to cross to Corfu but remain at Plataria. Unfortunately causing Tony and Clair to have to make their own way across while we prepared for Paul 😂😂

Plataria to Corfu Ormos Garitsas. Finally time to return to Corfu. I enjoy this hip old town and it’s time to find my red purse from last year that I wanted to buy. A good bay from a holding perspective and access via the marina.

Ormos Garitsas to Ormos Kommeno. Off to a new bay next to Gouvia Marina. A good bay with lots of anchorage space and not too busy but deep waters. However the conditions were perfect. A dinghy ride to the shore and a walk to the marina store to get a 🇨🇦 for GypsyDjango 👏

Parga to Lefkada Marina. Back to Lefkada to visit our favorite Nautic store and replenish our cooking gas. Paid 25 Euro for mooring fees. A tricky med mooring since they dropped chain close to the shore for the floating dock. Became acquainted with the stowaway cat who visited and proceeded to wee on my clothes. An early morning run around the body of water adjacent to the marina. Managed to get some sailing in 🥳

Lefkada to Jacqueline Kennedy Beach. A short trip to Skorpios to find the Onassis islands prohibited to anchor. An engine around the island and finally we found an anchorage on Jacqueline Kennedy beach. Narrow anchorage - apparently only allowed during the day time. Many fish swimming around GypsyDjango - great for photoshoots 🥹

Jacqueline Kennedy Beach to Meganisi Remintou. Crazy sailing conditions with a perfect anchorage stern to amongst cheering from all aboard. The wind definitely picks up in the afternoons. So excited as we return to one of our favorite islands and favorite bay. Paul changing tack from Nydri to Meganisi. Dangerous underground rocks not properly charted along the way made it an even more interesting sail.

A beautiful bay, gorgeous sunset and magical sunrise with an early run to the bay next door.

Arkoudi to Fiskardo. Arriving late in the afternoon and hoping for a place to anchor we ended up motoring up and down the bay looking for a position and finally taking anchorage at the end next to the unfriendly Austrian. Both the boats next to us had only one line ashore which did not make sense. After a slightly heated discussion with the Austrian who was determined to move alongside us to prove the wind would blow him on us we forced him to take a second line ashore. His promised strong westerly wind which was contrary to the forecast never arrived. A lovely exploratory run in the morning after meeting a South African local walking his dog who gave directions made fiskardo (despite the challenging anchorage) a wonderful place to visit. Another GypsyDjango first as Kingsley proposed to Kasha on Fiskardo beach!

Fiskardo to Nydri Tranquility bay. Deciding to moor we called all of the marinas to find out that they were full. So the decision was to aim for the town quay. A swim stop on the bottom South corner of Lefkada along the way. On arriving we took position next to a reserved spot for a tour boat. When the boat returned the captain discovered that his shore line had been severed in someone’s prop. After using his fishing boat to look for the anchor and line he asked us to move form the quay and hover in the bay while he searched. We did so till he found it and were rewarded with champagne. A discovery walk on their boat Christina wasobviously necessary after that 🥂👏. A wonderful run to the waterfall in the morning.

Nydri Town Quay to George's bar cabaña mainland. Leaving Nydri we found an anchorage sheltered from the wind to hide out in before the overnight crossing to Antipaxos. A wonderful swim to the cabana bar onshore. An easy anchorage on mainland before entering the channel.

Mainland George's bar cabaña to Antipaxos Emerald Bay. Leaving in time to catch the 9pm bridge opening off we go with much anticipation for our night crossing with everyone joining for shift hours. What was expected as a night of motoring in calm seas turned out to be engine with exceptional sailing conditions with a slight swell which was managed by most. A perfect nights sailing and 4am anchorage in a very busy bay on Antipaxos. .
