    June 12, 2012 in Germany ⋅ 🌧 18 °C

On the second day of our Berlin trip we visited the famous East Side Gallery. During the bus tour we learned many interesting facts about the history of the Berlin Wall. The East Side Gallery is the longest remaining section of the Berlin Wall and today an impressive open-air art gallery. The colorful graffiti and artworks created by international artists were especially fascinating. Every painting told its own story about freedom, hope and Germany’s transformation. Of course the famous “Fraternal Kiss” mural was one of the highlights. The atmosphere along the wall was very unique and many visitors were taking photos everywhere. It was fascinating to experience history and modern art at the same time. The East Side Gallery is definitely one of Berlin’s most interesting places. The bus tour was a great way to learn more about the city’s past.
