A few minutes later, we visited the historic Orhan Gazi Mosque in Bilecik. The mosque was built in the 14th century during the reign of Orhan Gazi, the second ruler of the Ottoman Empire. It is one of the important buildings from the early Ottoman period. Its location on a hill above the city provides a beautiful view of the surrounding area. The architecture reflects the simplicity and practicality of early Ottoman design. Unlike later grand imperial mosques, its modest style creates a special charm. Inside, the atmosphere is peaceful and spiritual. Visiting this place helped us imagine the importance such buildings had for people centuries ago. Today, the mosque remains a symbol of the beginnings of the Ottoman Empire. It was fascinating to visit a place that has preserved so much history. Another unforgettable stop during our journey through Türkiye’s past.
