The rainforest biome at the Eden Project

    February 20, 2023 in England

Rainforests are our life-support system. They regulate the world's climate and are home to vast amounts of biodiversity. They provide livelihoods for millions of people. In order to raise awareness of the importance of rainforests to all of us, one has been grown at the Eden Project!

The Rainforest Biome is home to recreations of four of the world's rainforests, featuring plants and stories from Southeast Asia, West Africa, Southern and Central America, and the tropical islands 🏝. We have been lucky enough to have visited some of these places and seen the plants in their natural habitat. All I can say is that here in Cornwall, they have created as authentic an experience as I could have imagined. It was incredible!!

I was quite glad we visited on a dull day. It was still pretty warm in the biome, but on a sunny day, temperatures 🌡 can reach 35 degrees!

It was also good that we were there on a quiet day. We were the only ones on the viewing platform when we climbed the 100 steps to the roof!
