A spot of wine tasting

After visiting Agulhas, we drove on to South Africa’s sought-after Walker Bay Wine Region, high up on the scenic Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge in the heart of Cape Floral Region.

Our first stop for tasting was at Creation Wines, where we tried 7 different wines (3 whites, 3 reds, and a rosé), accompanied by a very tasty platter. Even though I’m not much of a wine drinker any more, I think my palate is still good and I was able to explain to Timo how to taste wine and how to discern the differences between varieties. I particularly enjoyed an aged chenin blanc, while Mark preferred a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Mouvedre.
