Clevers Lake View Campsite

The toxic atmosphere that had started in camp yesterday continued through the day today. It’s such a shame! There’s a definite ‘them and us’ divide. The newbies from the other truck resent the system our truck works to. The newbies who are fresh to this Intrepid trip (Joey, Gilly, and Michele) are just getting on with it! There were lots of upsets today between various people. I let it get to me at one point, but I had to take a deep breath and make a decision not to let the situation spoil my enjoyment of this trip!

We had quite a long drive today to get to our next campsite just outside the town of Masvingo. It wasn’t a great start when someone wanted a bushy bushy stop less than an hour after we’d started! However, we pushed on along roads that were not in the best condition. We had to stop briefly in Masvingo as one of our number needed antibiotics.

We arrived at our camp, Clevers Lakeview Campsite, at around 1pm. It was in a beautiful spot with, as the name suggests, a lovely view of a lake. The campground itself was rather uneven and scattered with boulders, so we had to pick our place carefully. It was our first time back in our tent in a week. We almost needed a reminder lesson on how to put it up 😂.Leia mais
