• Zanzibar Coffee House

Having unpacked a few bits and bobs, we went out ostensibly to visit Freddie Mercury’s house and museum. Our first stop, though, was at a pharmacy to get something for Mark’s ankle. The chemist recommended a cream to reduce the swelling. From there, we set off towards the museum but managed to get hopelessly lost in the market area! We bought some cotton towels and then stopped at the famous Zanzibar Coffee House, where we both ordered affogato. It was delicious!

Mark was in a lot of pain, so we gave up on the idea of going to Freddie’s birthplace and made our way back to the hotel instead. Once there, he used the cream and, after an hour or two, noticed an improvement. He was still hobbling, though, so we decided to eat in the hotel tonight, rather than go to the food market, which had been our original plan. Mark had seafood pasta, and I had grilled chicken. Both were very good.

Back in the room, we caught up with BBC World News, and I booked a walking tour for tomorrow as Mark probably won’t be up for walking, and I don’t fancy getting lost on my own!
