A walk along the Mara River

From there, it was a short drive to the Mara Bridge area. Here, we went on a thirty-minute guided walk with an armed guard. We saw lots of hippos in the Mara River. Unfortunately, I just missed capturing the moment when a whole family got scared by one bird and all went running from the bank into the river!

Our guide was passionate about the wildlife of the area and gave us lots of interesting information. He pointed out plovers, footprints from a yellow-billed stork, a chameleon, and a pair of African Redhead Agama lizards (aka rainbow lizards) mating.
