Desert adventure

We rolled into Superior, Arizona around 6:00 p.m., wondering whether we should find a campsite or take a room. Given that the weather forecast was rain ... or snow ..., we checked into the Copper Mountain Motel.

I love these old 1950s hotels. Their walls are covered in 70 years of coats of paint, one layered after another, making the walls thick with it. They tell a story of travelers across time. In this the year of the Lord 2023, it was the smell of a mother's Indian food drifting in from the back room when her vivacious American daughter and hotel manager came out to check us in.Meer informatie
