    Halve Mein H3 #721

    September 7, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

As luck would have it, I just happened to be in the area today, and was able to catch another HMH3 trail north of Albany, NY. We had a slightly bigger pack than 2 weeks ago, and a bit longer trail. Starting at a recently closed bar & grill, our hares Dirtbag and Wasted Time (who would summarily be tagged as Wasted Flour after his virgin performance on this trail) set an interesting path around Clifton Park. The pack of roughly 12 made our way through the trials and tribulations of this mostly pavement trail.

We did have a few shiggy areas that caused the walkers and the stroller to deviate, but the rest of us finally made it to the beer stop. This is when things got a bit hinky. Our virgin hare was supposed to lead us into the finish from here, and he actually ended up getting lost (laying trail that no one followed . . . and ended up be the DFL), while the pack managed to find our own way back to the cars . . . as you might expect, the hares were regaled with many a song as they were rewarded with many down downs.

Despite the jocularity of this shindig, we all had a great time, with plenty of laughs. After circle, 6 of us found our way to a local pub for some grub, and had great conversations about sailing boats and the like. This will probably be my last hash in the USA for quite some time, as I head off to spend the rest of the year on the road in Asia, Australia, South America, and Antarctica . . . and maybe a few mystery excursions. Farewell to all my new friends here in Upstate New York.
