Asuncion H3 #85 – 3rd Anniversary

Main Event . . . Another sweltering day in the middle of South America, and the hash was on. A party villa had been rented for this occasion, and it was lovely. Trail kicked off at 1530, the long trail was 10 K, while the short trail got a 7 k deal. Our hare, Ban the Cock, set an amazing trail that took in all sorts of winding single track dirt trails, open fields, and alleyways. A most excellent adventure here in Paraguay. Near the end, trail cut through a marina down by the river, and skirted along the shore for a while before heading back towards the finish. After two of us made it through the marina, they shut the gate to keep the riff raff the likes of us from being seen in such a dignified establishment. 😊

As the pack slowly drifted into the finish, ice cold beer was the flavor of the day (ok, they had wine too . . . and a few bottles of rum), and a swim in the pool was very refreshing. Snacks of empanadas were on hand while we waited for the BBQ to finish being prepared. Then the BBQ was served and there was sooooo much food. I’m not sure if we finished half of it, but it was amazing. Circle was a hoot, and all 20 + hashers joined in for some games after. Bottom line, if you don’t come down to South America to hash, you’re just missing out on some of the best things in life. On On Czytaj więcej
