    Took a day tour out of the city (La Paz) to visit Moon Valley. It gets its name from Neil Armstrong, who one day many years ago while visiting La Paz, went out for a round of golf. Looking around, he said that area looks like the moon . . . and so it was designated a protected area, and is now a major attraction.

    It looks like the area was once under the ocean, and the ground is packed sediment of sand and stone. Over the centuries, rain has eroded it to spires . . . similar to Bryce Canyon in Utah, but not as colorful.
