For the Love of Paris

We traveled to the land of Love for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary. Paris was a complete boiling pot. Not only of people, but culture, food, history, love. It was a city that had it all. 4 days just wasn't enough. I will be honest, I haven't eaten much French food in my past and it was entirely a new experience for me. My favorite, of course, Crème Brule and Macarons. I wasn't brave enough to try the escargot, but I will say that I regret such. I will learn from my mistake and always try the national dish. Obviously, the Eiffel Tower is a crowd pleaser in Paris. And they aren't lying when they say such, but take a minute and look at all the beauty around her as well. The park is full of families and laughter, the garden is blooming before your eyes. It's all beautiful. Have a soft spot for reading, I had to visit Shakespeare and Company and I was so glad I did. I don't think it was quite as touristy as it may be now, but it was still worth a visit. You could spend hours browsing, listening, reading in this little shop that resides just across the river from Notre Dame. Of course, we took advantage of Sandeman's Free Tours the first day to get our footing in the city. Always a great idea! Of all the places we visited during our short trip to Paris, Montmarte was my absolute favorite. It was like stepping back in time in France. Where artists still paint on the streets, bakeries fill the air and outside markets create opportunities. When I get back to Paris, Montmarte is where you'll find me.
