After a long ride from Milan, I arrived in Rome in the morning and decided to head Straight to the Colosseum. My excitement of seeing ancient Rome architecture didnt last long as. I started to see a lot of renovations fences around the building and the colosseum and its surroundings weren’t in their best condition either. I continued to walk to the St. Angelo and I saw even more construction fences. At this point I am already so disappointed and thinking should I go back to Milan. But St. Peter’s Basilica greeted me from a distance as I walked away from St. Angelo. That’s the moment I decided to wait until sunset to leave Rome.

I spent the day walking around town visiting Pantheon, admiring the Rome back alleys. And dropping my stuff at Anytime Fitness to wash up (yes I do make use of it as my travel locker, why not) and headed to get some food around the neighborhood. It was a really hot summer in Rome at 39C, compared to 15C in Paris. And I was constantly getting hot weather alert from the government through my phone. Turns out they’re getting the heat wave this time. Saw a lot of people walking around with their flask to keep them hydrated. So i did the same with my empty plastic water bottle. Thank God Rome has a lot more public drinkable tap water than Paris at this point. So I could refill mine quite easily. After getting some food and gelato (cant miss that) I took my bag from Anytime Fitness and slowly walking to Vatican City in the scorching southern Italian summer. I had to make a few stop along the park to ensure I dont feel exhausted before the day ends.
