Redwoods Hike

After camping at Elk Prairie we decided to actually pull out our hiking gear and hike ~13 miles down the James Irvine Trail to Gold Bluffs Beach and back. The forest continued to humble us as we walked by grove after grove of tall redwoods. Nearing the coast we got to walk through Fern Canyon, created by past flooding events whose sheer walls are now carpeted in ferns. We walked a mile along the beach, dodging the incoming tide, and then back through the redwoods to our bikes at the campground. After transforming back to bike mode we pedaled onward to a new campsite that night.En savoir plus
