• Warm Fire and Wild Fire

    11 november 2015, Förenta staterna ⋅ ☀️ 3 °C

At the end of our long day we climbed up to Pinehurst, where Warmshowers host Linn provided a warm fire on a very chilly night. We became even more thankful that she took us into her home as we learned about the crazy hours she had been putting in to help protect archealogical sites during the Rough Fire that burned 151,000 acres in the Sequoia National Forest and Kings Canyon National Park for over 70 days (one of the biggest and longest burning wildfires in California). The next morning we pre-warmed our shoes by the fire and said goodbye to Linn and her dog Seebeck before continuing the ~7000 ft climb we had started the day before.Läs mer
