Hank's House

After quite a few days on the road in the mountains (i.e. with lots of climbing!) we were really looking forward to taking a rest day and restocking on energy and provisions. And with the snow and ice on the roads in Sequoia and more snow in the forecast, we also needed to figure out a new lower elevation plan going forward. We were lucky to spend our time at Hank's. Hank is a Warmshowers and Couchsurfing host (i.e. Super Host), and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at his place with the opportunity to have full run of the kitchen for cooking and baking, and spread out all of our maps attempting to assess our various options for the road ahead. We left cleaned up, well fed and enroute back to the coast.Read more
