    Citrus Galore

    The thing about cycling through the Central Valley is that you can spend hours biking by the same crop. When we first headed from Coalinga to Fresno it was almonds, then pistachios, then grapes. In the southern part of the valley it was a lot citrus trees - laden with oranges, lemons or limes - and grape vines that lined the road almost our entire ride from Porterville to Bakersfield. Despite the monotony, we do enjoy seeing how crops are grown and harvested at this scale, providing an insight into the fruit we take for granted in our northern grocery stores at home.Read more
